GCCS men's group

Praying before our Saturday moto ride

GCCS men's group is just that we are a group of men that are wanting fellowship. We work all week and we are looking for a time to talk together and share our lives together. We have just started our group, we are asking the question to each man, what is the desire of the men's group? Each man has had a opportunity to voice what he would like the men's group to be. The men all have a voice in the direction of the outside trips and the teachings that they feel they need to be encouraged and straightened in. I believe this group is learning more about leading themselves through our times spent together. Speaking openly and discussing challenges that life is giving them. I see growth in each man in the group in a short time.

Outreach teams come to help with the day to day ministry of IHSI. A team of 8 ladies from Wisconsin joined us this past summer helping with children's ministry, teaching English, helping in our New Beginnings Center with Sak Saum, Youth group, Church meetings, village ministries and home care and visits, as well as just building relationships with all the staff and people involved with IHSI/Sak Saum.

We celebrate the relationships, friendships and partnerships that an outreach provides, the memories, laughter, the tears, the heard times and the blessed times all come together with a meal with the ones whom you just spent the last weeks with building the Kingdom of God in Cambodia. Yes we celebrate the time we had and the time to ahead. That is our IHSI Love Feast.

All the English classes that IHSI teach are open to the community and public. We do not chargefor our classes, they are totally free of charge, all we ask isthe students are responsible to purchase the booklets that we teach our lessons from the local school supply store. This can be a stretch for many students. IHSI is located in a community that is mostly farmers, and very poor people we see that the living standard is extremely low and up to 87% are uneducated. This has caused IHSI to look for ways to help the community become educated. IHSI also teaches the Khmer language to children that are in our community. Many children are not in school because of the lack of understanding by the parents of how important a education is and no extra money to put towards local schooling. If you are wanting to help IHSI financially with these efforts please visit our donate page on this site. EH
